We are proud to share that Grandmaster Thommy Luke Böhlig, the founder of Wing Tsjun International, visited Sri Lanka for a special Grading Examination on May 3rd, 2025, followed by a Seminar on May 4th, 2025, held in Colombo. This momentous occasion also marked the 14th Anniversary of Wing Tsjun Sri Lanka, which was established on May 5th, 2011.

Over the past 14 years, Wing Tsjun Sri Lanka has grown into a dedicated and disciplined martial arts community, and this year's event was a fitting tribute to its legacy and achievements.

During the grading examination, students successfully passed 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Student Levels, showcasing their skill and commitment to the Wing Tsjun philosophy.

A historic highlight of this event was the promotion of Mr. Premil Naveendra, National Director of Wing Tsjun Sri Lanka, to the rank of 1st Technician. This marks a major milestone—potentially the first time in nearly 50 years that a Sri Lankan has completed the full Leung Ting lineage of Wing Chun, which is believed to have been introduced to Sri Lanka in 1975.

We also congratulate Mr. Kennath Wanniarachchi and Mr. Kasun Madurasinghe, who both passed the 10th Level as instructors—an impressive achievement that reflects their long-standing dedication and commitment to the martial arts journey.

In addition, our assistant instructors—Mr. Sanjaya Suraweera, Mr. Mahommed Irshad, and Mr. Anuradha Dahanayaka—were officially awarded their Instructor Certificates, marking a new chapter in their teaching and training careers within the Wing Tsjun International Sri Lanka Branch.

A huge round of applause also goes to all students who successfully earned their respective ranks under the guidance of Grandmaster Thommy Luke Böhlig and Sifu Premil Naveendra. Your discipline and perseverance continue to elevate the standards of Wing Tsjun in Sri Lanka.
